Job Description

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

Strategically attract, retain best talent and ensure the well being, morale of its people through the projection of a positive Company image and planned career progression. Ensure that production processes and business practices are in compliance with Corporate/ Company ethical standards, environment and safety standards and provide effective and efficient administrative services to ensure the smooth functioning of the business and welfare of all stakeholders

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE :

  • To implement change management and effective communication in support of corporate initiatives
  • Implement all global HR initiatives related to Learning and Development, Employees career progression planning, performance management and other employee engagement activities.
  • Maintain a sound employer employee relationship with the trade union and maintain industrial peace while improving employee productivity. 
  • Ensure that HR policies and practices are in keeping with the laws of the country and the needs of the company
  • to ensure that the non-production related administrative functions of  the company provide the required level of service to all departments
  • To work with department heads in the recruitment, selection, training and development of staff
  • Optimise the use of people within the organisation through HR management systems and processes
  • Improve HR management within the company by timely interventions, change, amendment in strategy and shift to modern HR practices
  • To actively participate in the company strategic planning process
  • To encourage innovation and creativity through timely recognition
  • To liaise with project consultants, architects and contractors regarding building  construction expansion and improvements, keeping abreast of business growth                                          
  • To liaise with Company Secretaries, Company lawyers and insurance underwriters
  • To ensure compliance with health & safety standards and environmental standards 
  • To liaise with advisory bodies in obtaining advice and services related to Industrial Relations
  • To represent the HR/Administrative function wherever and whenever necessary and needed
  • To liaise/consult with and advise other Department Heads on HR/Administrative matters
  • To assist in establishment of new business sites and expansion of business facilities

Qualifications
  • A professional qualification in Management or Human Resources Management with at least 10 years experience in a Management / Senior management position including management of people and proven administrative skills are essential requirements.
  • Skills in management of people through integrated HR systems in a unionized working environment and manage processes strategically linked to the business.
  • People management skills, negotiating, counselling, communication skills and interpersonal skills of a high standard 
  • In depth knowledge of labour laws, industrial relations procedures and exceptional communication skills are essential 
  • Wide range of administrative skills and ability to conduct one to one discussions with top management of other establishments are essential pre requisites. 
  • Capable of taking care of company secretarial requirements in relation to board resolutions connected to property lease agreements, service bonds and liaison with company lawyers. 
  • Should be able to handle company insurance policies and matters connected with risk assessments and formulation of disaster recovery plans
