Maintenance Technician

Full Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain all plant and machinery in the above-mentioned areas in peak condition by effectively implementing preventive maintenance program
• Provide continuous services in electricity, water supply, air conditioning, telephone and fire prevention.
• Maintain available spare parts for plant and machinery and bring to the notice of superiors any shortcomings/ shortages in the system to engineering coordinator
• Conduct electrical maintenance, inspection and testing for machinery and electrical panels.
• Apply innovative and creative methods and recommend methods to improve machine performance, productivity and reduction of waste
• Provide engineering support to implement environment, safety & health policies of the organization
• Coordinate with QA, production, stores and other relevant areas to achieve common goals of the organization and maintain high quality standards of our products.
• Contribute to productivity and efficiency of the production process and machinery
• Document all maintenance and engineering related activities to comply with global QMS and EHS policy requirement as and when required.
• Carry out the tasks adhering to CMMS system. Limited to authority level defined in system.
• Ability to issue PTWs after getting relevant internal trainings.
• Creation of reports & updating (Calibration)
• Conduct calibration activities related to differential pressure gauges
• Operate Disintegration Apparatus, Friabilator, Hardness Tester
• ELCB Testing & Panel Board Service
• Operations of the RO plant including chemical cleaning
• Fire & Emergency Response Operation
• Support proper implementation of machinery safety and LOTO program
• Carry out self-inspections

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Should possess G.C.E. (O/L) qualification.
• Relevant qualification in electrical engineering field
• At least 6 years’ experience in production on Packaging of Food / Pharmaceutical industry will be an added advantage
• Good communication skills in English and Sinhala
• Ability to  communicate and build positive relationships with international stakeholders and work under pressure.
