Job Description

We are looking for a Program Manager based in Sri Lanka to join the COO Office in R&D.

The focus of the COO Office is to enable the R&D organization to rollout high-quality products by ensuring planning and execution of our product releases, aligned ways of working, management of strategic programs & projects and communication according to the Rhythm of Business. 

As a Program Manager in the Engineering Excellence team you play a key role in driving the continuous improvement and governance of engineering practices of the R&D organization with more than 1200 people.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering Excellence within R&D, you will work closely with leads of our 7-Stages Development Process methodology to ensure all teams are at point for timely delivery of high quality, secure and performant software. You are responsible for driving the adoption of best practices and processes whilst you look to continuously improve our ways of working and continue to drive our transformation towards DevSecOps.

You come with a solid project management toolbox and are able to ensure proper management of a number of initiatives and successfully report progress against plan towards a number of stakeholders. You are excellent at managing change, possess great communication skills and have a proven ability to prioritize, negotiate and resolve conflicts across multiple initiatives.

You have a good understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery of software. You understand how various tools such as Jira and Confluence can support the business in implementing changes and tracking progress and understand the importance of well-documented processes and governance structures.

Qualifications

To be successful as Program Manager, having a positive attitude and a “can-do” mindset is key. You are a “do’er” yourself and can make things happen. We expect you to think outside the box and be a front runner when it comes to challenging status quo in the strive for improvements.

As a person you are comfortable taking decisions, ensuring execution and managing change – both in the process and project context. You are strong communicator and have the ability to make the complex simple.

You have a relevant academic degree and a proven track record for delivery and execution in a cloud first environment, successfully managing initiatives within large, complex B2B software products. You will have successfully worked with planning, process management, documentation and training in an engineering context.

It is a must that you have experience in scaling Lean and Agile practices with a DevOps mindset.

Your background is probably from software engineering, systems engineering or similar. To be able to handle this role you will have to work effectively in an internationally distributed, multi-cultural team across many time zones.
