Job Description
A Software Quality Analyst is a mid-level professional serving as a member of a team. This position will use professional concepts and apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues. The Analyst usually receives minimal instructions, works on problems of moderate scope, and follows standard practices in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and execute testing using selected technologies with oversight by more senior analyst.
- Adhere to established testing procedures and policies.
- Effectively communicate testing issues on a regular basis.
- Review and provide feedback into Features, User Stories, Bugs, and Test Cases.
- Clearly and accurately communicate with technical and non-technical personnel both written and verbally.
- Has experience creating and executing deterministic test cases including specific testing inputs, execution conditions, and expected results.
- Has experience in identifying, isolating, and tracking software bugs.
- Has experience identifying potential problems users may encounter with software.
- Has experience in recording test progress and results.
- Has experience in Software QA methodologies, tools and techniques used to develop software products.
- Starting to get a good understanding of specific capabilities within an assigned product.
- Improves existing team processes. Creates effective documentation used by others. Attention to detail. Digs in and makes progress on work. Stays focused and isn't distracted by irrelevant things.
- Self-starting, able to work with minimal direction from management. Understands need for lateral thinking; Displays willingness to adapt to new ways of doing business.
- Work completed takes on characteristics of small to medium sized projects with an increased level of complexity.
- Works under general supervision, reporting to the Quality Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in software quality testing or equivalent field.
- Functioning/developing understanding of role.
- Working experience in an agile team environment.
- Able to work / be available a couple hours a day that overlap with US Business Hours is a must.
